Rekindling Intimacy and Romantic Love

Welcome to Steven M Cohn's Marriage and Relationship Counseling Practice

"Rekindling Intimacy and Romantic Love"

Congratulations on your decision to start couples counseling. Whether you are coming in because the joy and passion has fizzled out of your relationship or you are seeking preventative and educational work in the form of premarital counseling, you have taken an important step that will impact your life-long relational happiness.

I'm looking forward to meeting you.

"Steven Cohn is a person of exceptional abilities."

Regardless of whether you're coming in for communications counseling, to rekindle intimacy, or to create renewed feelings of romantic love, I want your experience to be rewarding, fulfilling, and deepening.

To help you understand how counseling works, at the beginning of your first session I will tell you all about my approach and answer any of your questions. I will also talk with you about what you can expect during your first 4 90-minutes sessions. The structure for those first four sessions is that I will meet with you as a couples during your first two sessions, and then, for our third and fourth sessions, I will meet with each of you alone.

During all sessions, I will offer you a warm cup of tea (I have a wonderful selection of teas) or a cool glass of water.

For your comfort, there are two restrooms inside the Irvington Counseling and Healing Arts Center, one on each floor. It's always OK to leave a session to use the restroom, just excuse yourself and come back when you're ready.

Five important things to remember about your first session:

  1. Please come to your first session 15 minutes early.
  2. Please find a two hour parking space on the street as my sessions are 90 minutes in length.
  3. Please fill out the forms on the two clipboards in the lobby, one set of forms for each of you.
  4. Please print out and take the "push button code" instructions to your first session (scroll down to find the link).
  5. I accept checks or cash.
